BioProc Data Processing System
(Last revisions: BioProc for DOS: version
1.65i, December 2007;
BioProc
for Windows: version 1.13, January 2008)
This page provides access to software that may be used
to process and analyze various types of analog data files, including
Kistler's
BioWare data files, Ariel's (APAS) analog files and several other file
formats. The software can be used to generate waveforms and test
various
data smoothing techniques for educational purposes. Its graphical
display
permits the simultaneous viewing and analysis of up to 16 signals. It
is
suitable for analyzing force platform, EMG, accelerometer or force
transducer
signals and correcting bias levels or filtering unwanted noise. The
program
also has the ability to ensemble average a series of signals, 8
channels
at a time.

Files:
bp165.exe
(1.2 Mb) Self-extracting archive containing the DOS program,
BIOPROC.EXE,
the installation file, ReadMeBP.TXT, and sample data for testing the
BioProc
system. Also included are two interfaces for calling the software from
Windows 3.1 (BPWIN.EXE) and Windows 95 (BPWIN95.EXE). The program,
CONV2BPA,
may be used to convert ASCII data files to a form suitable to BioProc.
BIOPROC.EXE
(315 Kb) BioProc program only.
bioproc.pdf
(1.1 Mb) BioProc User's Manual in PDF format (needs Acrobat
Reader).
Note, when used with the Biomech system this file should be placed in
the
\MANUALS subdirectory of the \BIOMECH directory (e.g.,
C:\BIOMECH\MANUALS).
bp_qrg.pdf
(21.8 Kb) BioProc Quick Reference Guide in .PDF format.
BPwin98.EXE
(144 Kb) Windows interface to BioProc for DOS.
conv2bpa.exe
(100 Kb) DOS program for converting various
ASCII
formats to BioProc .BPA format.
BioProc2
Link to BioProc2 software. BioProc2 is entirely Windows based.
How to install the system:
To install, download the BP165.EXE file to a hard disk subdirectory,
such
as, C:\TEMP. Then execute the following command:
BP165 -n path
where "path" is the name of the subdirectory where the software will
be installed. If you plan to use this sotware with the
Biomech
Motion Analysis System (recommended), install them to the same
subdirectory,
e.g., C:\BIOMECH. You will need, approximately, 1 Mbyte of disk space.
The Windows programs require that certain files be already installed
in the system directory (x:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM) of your computer. These
files
may be already loaded on your system. If not, they may be obtained from
the FTP site: 137.122.122.66, using a user name of "guest" and a
password
of "guest". The Windows files are in the subdirectory, VBASIC. Updates
to the software will be posted in this FTP site regularly. View the
file
READMEBP.TXT for the appropriate files.
